Sighthound Welfare Trust is a UK based registered charity that is working to improve the lives of sighthounds across the UK, Eire and Spain.

SWT also raises awareness of sighthound welfare issues, in particular those of stray dogs and greyhound racing.

Greyhound Action began their campaign against the greyhound racing industry in 1997, in an attempt to end the suffering and slaughter of greyhounds. Since their campaign began, about 20 British greyhound tracks have been forced to close, mostly due to poor attendances and over a dozen proposed tracks have been prevented from opening.
